A new computer program called DALL-E 2 can create a masterpiece in moments. Type a prompt, like “cat DJ” or “astronaut riding a horse,” into the program. In a few seconds, DALL-E 2 will generate art to fit that description.

DALL-E 2 was created by California-based tech company OpenAI. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) to learn over time. The program has analyzed millions of captioned images to form connections between the words and pictures. This allows it to generate its own complex art. Some believe its images are so impressive that they could be mistaken for the work of a professional human artist.
